Montpelier, VT — Prevent Child Abuse Vermont (PCAVT) is proud to announce the appointment of Jonathan Williams as its new Executive Director. Jonathan brings a wealth of experience in public service, nonprofit leadership, and community-based advocacy to his new role, along with a long-standing commitment to strengthening Vermont’s families and communities.

Jonathan steps into this role following a diverse and impactful career spanning legislative service, nonprofit development, and grassroots community engagement. Most recently, he served as Senior Grants and Contracts Manager at the Vermont Foodbank, where he played a key role in fundraising and strategic leadership, helping to drive statewide efforts to combat food insecurity. Jonathan’s leadership was also central to the Foodbank’s successful $8.7 million capital campaign, which expanded capacity to deliver fresh, nutritious food across Vermont.

A former member of the Vermont House of Representatives, Jonathan represented the Washington-3 District, where he focused on economic development, flood recovery, and climate resilience. His legislative experience is backed by a deep understanding of Vermont’s municipalities, having worked directly with town governments and the Vermont League of Cities and Towns. He has also served in appointed positions, including on the Vermont Communications Board and various community-based planning commissions.

Jonathan’s dedication to service began early. After earning his degree from Boston University, he served in the United States Peace Corps in rural Morocco, where he partnered with a women’s artisan cooperative and taught English. He later completed a Master of Public Administration at the University of Vermont, further sharpening his skills in governance, policy, and nonprofit management.

In every chapter of his career, Jonathan has brought a thoughtful, collaborative approach to leadership—qualities that align powerfully with PCAVT’s mission to prevent child abuse and build safe, nurturing communities across Vermont.
