Ways to Give: A Smart Guide to Non-Cash Giving
Make a Difference for Vermont’s Children
There are many ways to support Prevent Child Abuse Vermont beyond a traditional cash donation. Whether you want to make a gift today or create a lasting legacy for the future, your generosity helps strengthen families, support parents, and build safer, happier childhoods for Vermont’s children.
Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
A donor-advised fund allows you to recommend grants to charitable organizations from a fund you have already established. You can recommend a grant to Prevent Child Abuse Vermont at any time, making it a convenient way to support our mission. Contact your fund administrator to recommend a gift. (You can now recommend a grant to PCAVT from your donor-advised fund directly through our website.)
IRA Charitable Distributions (Qualified Charitable Distributions or QCDs)
If you are age 70½ or older, you may be eligible to make a charitable gift directly from your traditional IRA to Prevent Child Abuse Vermont. A qualified charitable distribution may offer tax advantages and can count toward your required minimum distribution when applicable. Ask your IRA administrator about making a QCD.
Gifts of Stock and Securities
Donating appreciated stocks or other eligible securities can be a tax-efficient way to give. By transferring investments directly to Prevent Child Abuse Vermont, you may avoid capital gains tax you would otherwise owe if you sold them, while supporting our work. Consult your financial or tax advisor to determine whether this option is right for you.
Bequests and Planned Giving
You can help protect Vermont’s children for generations to come by including Prevent Child Abuse Vermont in your will or trust. A bequest allows you to designate a gift to our organization as part of your estate plan. You can also explore other planned giving options that reflect your wishes and circumstances.
Gifts of Retirement Plan Assets or Life Insurance
You may be able to name Prevent Child Abuse Vermont as a beneficiary of an IRA, 401(k), or life insurance policy. These gifts can provide meaningful support for our future work while allowing you to retain control of your assets during your lifetime.
Your Gift Makes a Difference
Every gift helps Prevent Child Abuse Vermont promote healthy relationships, strengthen families, and prevent child abuse before it starts.
