Dr. Karyn M. Patno

Dr. Karyn Patno is a board certified child abuse pediatrician who lives and works in Vermont.  She received her medical education at Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and then completed a pediatric residency in Burlington, VT.  In 2008 she completed a fellowship in child abuse pediatrics at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, RI.  In 2008 she returned to Vermont and established the Child Safe Program of Vermont.  While starting the program in St. Johnsbury, VT, it quickly expanded to include offices in Burlington, VT and Plattsburgh, NY.  She also provided clinical services through the Child Advocacy and Protection Program at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.  Child Abuse Prevention has always been a particular interest of Dr. Patno and in 2009 she teamed up with Prevent Child Abuse Vermont to start the Abusive Head Trauma Prevention Program.  A few years later, this program was expanded to include the promotion of safe sleep.
