PCAV operates a central office in Montpelier and has a staff of sixteen, ten of whom work out of PCAV's central office with the remaining six working in regions throughout the state either from their homes or offices in the community. PCAV's Executive Director, Linda E. Johnson, has led the organization for over twenty years and has been an Executive Director for twenty-eight years.
PCAV's programs are all carried out in collaboration with other statewide and local agencies, organizations, schools and communities of faith. PCAV and/or its staff members are members of the Partnership for an Abuse Free State, Family Support America, The Children and Family Council for Prevention Programs, the Social and Rehabilitation Services Advisory Board, the Family Consortium, Vermont 211, the Rural Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Task Force, the Sexual Violence Task Force, and the STOP IT NOW! VERMONT Advisory Board. PCAV Regional Coordinators sit on their local community partnerships, Success by Six teams, and various other task forces. PCAV local collaborations include schools, parent child centers, family shelters, statewide child and family advocacy organizations, businesses, communities of faith, hospitals, childcare centers, SRS, mental health agencies, and domestic violence and sexual assault programs. As a the Vermont Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America and the National Roundtable of Family Support Programs, we have national networks of other statewide organizations with missions like ours to learn from and draw upon for consultation, technical assistance and support.
Fiscally, the organization is stable. PCAV has a diverse funding base with approximately 50% of our resources coming from state and federal agencies. The remainder is contributed from foundations, United Ways, businesses, individuals, the sale of KIDPINS and special events, like the annual WALK FOR CHILDREN.
PCAV is governed by an active Board of Directors, who set policy; plan the organization's direction; establish goals, objectives and strategies; and raise funds. Our Board Members may serve for up to seven years and then they may be invited to join the Advisory Board. Each Board Member serves on at least one committee and makes an annual financial contribution to PCAV.
